HCM City police are investigating a case in which a philanthropist was killed while giving out free meals to the homeless.

The man, a 25-year-old charity worker known in the community, was killed on August 10 evening near the intersection of Le Quang Sung and Pham Dinh Ho.
According to witnesses, the man was going about his regular work when the suspect approached him with a knife. He was stabbed multiple times and died soon after.
Ready-made meals left on pavement
Police arrived to the scene quickly, but were unable to save him. Their activities were clearing the scene and diverting traffic and curious onlookers. Police retrieved the murder weapon and are searching for the suspect.
