According to the decision by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, the retail prices of E5 RON 92 and RON 95 rose by VND380 and VND410 per litre to VND21,870 and VND22,750 respectively.

Diesel increased by VND290 to VND25,070 per litre and kerosene by VND120 to VND23,780 per litre. Mazut oil grew by VND190 to VND14,080 per kilo.
The Ministry of Finance has asked the General Department of Customs to facilitate customs clearance for petroleum imports.
The State Bank of Vietnam has been asked to consider offering credit incentives for petroleum business activities, including the application of preferential interest rates, to help meet domestic demand.


Some hours before the petrol and oil price rise, many petrol stations in Hanoi temporarily closed, claiming they had run out of fuel.


Meanwhile, many other local petrol stations saw a surge in customers who queued up to fill their tanks.

A man from Cau Giay District said that he spent an hour and a half waiting to buy petrol.
