Similar scenes unfolded in Hoi An, where tourists queued for boat rides and lantern releases on the Hoai River.

In Dalat, a New Year’s Eve concert was held at Lam Vien Square in cool, dry weather.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Hospital 115 said its emergency department was treating about 120 patients by late evening, including stroke, cardiac and trauma cases. Hanoi deployed emergency teams to fireworks sites, while fire and rescue forces maintained full staffing overnight.

Police in Danang stepped up patrols in major public spaces.
