The Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee issued conclusions on nearly 30 cases of Party members found violating Party disciplines and showing signs of violating the law.
In a press release at the end of its 33rd meeting in Ha Noi in late September and early October, the commission affirmed that the separate cases had occurred in the Party committees of the northern provinces of Ninh Binh and Ha Nam, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, the Song Da Group, the People\'s Committee of the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, the Party committee of the public security sector, HCM City\'s Police, and the SABECO Company.
The Ninh Binh Party committee\'s standing board received a penalty for "violating rules on practising democracy" in that they abused power by promulgating illegal documents. Their wrongdoing had resulted in a loss of the State\'s property and the displeasure of the public.
Individuals of the provincial Party Committee had received warnings and reprimands for their violations of the law.
Member of the Party Central Committee and secretary of the Ninh Binh Party committee Dinh Van Hung was proposed to be disciplined while two deputy secretaries of the provincial committee, Ta Nhat Thoi and Bui Van Thang, received a warning.
Lieutenant-General Le Quoc Su, former member of the executive board of the Central Public Security Party Committee, was among a number of power abusers who received a warning from the Party and an administrative penalty. Su, when acting as the head of the Logistic General Department, showed a poor sense of responsibility which led to various wrongdoings in the property management and purchase and the use of security land.
In its press release, the commission also reported that it had acted on petitions and denunciations lodged against 12 Party members, nine of them under the management of the Party Central Committee.
Also at its meeting, the commission passed a draft report reviewing inspections, surveillance and implementation of disciplines in the Party and another draft report summing up the implementation of its working regulations.
