According to the police in Nam Dinh Province, they set up five security barriers at the festival ground. The traffic police were sent to regulate the traffic. Vehicles going to Tran Temple were directed to Highway 10 and those who only passed through Nam Dinh were directed to nearby roads and Tan Phong Bridge.

Festival-goers can park their vehicles inside the Nam Dinh Stadium, Hoa Vuong and Thong Nhat urban areas.

Since 1 pm, many people have arrived at Tran Temple to offer incense and pray for their families.

The seal opening ceremony is held at midnight of the January 14 and 15 of the lunar calendar, worshipping the fourteen kings of the Tran Dynasty.

The Tran Temple Festival was recognised as national intangible heritage in 2014, while the historical complex of the Tran Kings’ shrines and tombs received special national historical site status in 2015. Mandarins took out the seals in hope for good luck and happiness. The replicas of the seals will be given to the public on the morning of the lunar January 15.

Thousands of people often flock to Tran Temple in hope to be able to get a seal for their own as it is believed that it will bring them success for the new year.
