Ongoing NA session passes five laws

The laws on Deposit Insurance, Anti Money Laundering, Tertiary Education, Prevention of harmfull effects of Tobacco and the revised Labour Code were passed at the 13th National Assembly.

The laws on Deposit Insurance, Anti Money Laundering, Tertiary Education, Prevention of harmfull effects of Tobacco and the revised Labour Code were passed on June 18, obtaining high percentage of votes, at the on-going session of the 13th National Assembly (NA).

The Law on Deposit Insurance only allows deposit insurance in Vietnamese dong (VND) for individuals account holders.

While the Law on Anti Money Laundering stipulates that the prevention of money laundering activities to finace terrorism will be implemented under the regulations of this law, the Penal Code as well as other legal regulations on anti-terrorism.

The Tertiary Education Law empowers the rights of self-control at the maximum level suitable for the capacity of higher education establishments.

In the mean time, the Law on Prevention of harmfull effects of Tobacco prohibits people under 18 years old for using, selling and buying cigarettes.

Meanwhile, the revised Labour Code allows female workers to take six months of maternity leave prior to and after having a baby.
