Northern region braces for prolonged high-humidity weather

The northern region of Vietnam has been forecasted to experience the high-humidity weather until April.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, each spell of humid weather typically lasts 3 to 5 days, sometimes extending up to a week. This phenomenon only ends or changes when the northeast monsoon arrives.

From late February onward, dry air will give way to a humid air mass, bringing light rain, drizzle, fog, and chilly nights and mornings across many northern cities and provinces.

During humid periods, air humidity exceeds 85 percent, accompanied by drizzle and fog, leading to damp conditions.

Humid weather disrupts daily life and poses health risks. High humidity fosters respiratory illnesses and allergies, particularly in children and the elderly.
