The second turbine of the Buon Tua Srah hydro-electric plant officially joined the national power grid after five days of trial operation on December 21.
After five years of construction with a design capacity of 86 MW, the two-turbine power plant on the Krongno River, the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, will generate annual electricity output of over 750 million KWh.
In addition to power generation, the new plant will help to regulate water flows to ensure smooth operation for downstream hydro-electric power plants such as Buon Kuop, Se Re Poc 3, Se Re Poc 4 during dry periods and reduce the risk of floods in lower areas.
