According to the ministry's report, 7,487 of the new patients are locally-transmitted cases confirmed in 60 out of 63 localities in the country including Dong Nai (953), Binh Duong (917), HCM City (912), Kien Giang (477), Bac Lieu (468), An Giang (411), Tay Ninh (305), Binh Thuan (298), Ca Mau (241), Can Tho (199), Soc Trang (193), Dong Thap (166), Tien Giang (163), Long An (140), Ha Giang (138), Dak Lak (135), and Binh Phuoc (107). There were 17 imported patients confirmed today.


The new infections showed an increase of 911 cases compared to yesterday's figure. There were 3,207 infections found in the community.

As of Friday evening, 948,646 infections had been reported since the new outbreak occurred in the country in late April. Some localities that have recorded the highest number of patients include HCM City (436,629), Binh Duong (237,158), Dong Nai (70,091), Long An (35,500), and Tien Giang (17,642).

With these new infection cases, the number of Covid-19 patients in Vietnam has increased to 953,547. The country now stands 40th among 223 countries and territories worldwide in the number of infections.

On November 5, an additional 1,941 more patients recovered from the disease, raising the number of recoveries in the country to 837,347.

On Friday evening, a further 70 deaths related to Covid-19 were announced, bringing the total number of fatalities in Vietnam to 22,412. The deaths were reported in some localities including HCM City (33), An Giang (9), Binh Duong (6), Long An (5), Kien Giang (3), Soc Trang (3), Hau Giang (2), Bac Lieu (2), Hung Yen (1), Dak Lak (1), Tay Ninh (1), Dong Nai (1), Tien Giang (1), Ninh Thuan (1), and Ben Tre (1).

Vietnam on November 4 administered more than 1.36 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines. The country has so far conducted over 86.31 million Covid-19 vaccine shots, with over 26.96 million people having received two doses.
