NA Standing Committee opens its 37th session in Hanoi

The National Assembly Standing Committee opened its 37 session in Hanoi on January 4 under the chairmanship of NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee opened its 37 session in Hanoi on January 4 under the chairmanship of NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong.

Attending the session were also NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Doan, members from NA committees, the NA Ethnicity Council and leaders from different sectors and ministries.

In his opening speech, NA Chairman Trong said at the session, NA Standing Committee’s members will give their opinions on the Law on Independent Audit, the Law on the Capital City, the Law on Vietnam’s Sea and approve a resolution announcing dates for the NA and People’s Council elections for the 2011-2016 term.

They will debate the implementation of coordinating mechanisms for 2011 between the NA Standing Committee and the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee and plans to allocate capital sourced from government bonds for next year.

Preparations for the 9th session of the 12th NA, the implementation of the Political Bureau’s resolution on building and revamping Vietnam’s legal systems through 2020 will also be raised for discussion during this session.

The 37th session will run until January 7.
