A local tour guide, Do Thanh Toan, 37, saw the pod at around 6 am this morning around a nautical mile from De Gi sea area.

The whales are spotted near De Gi sea area on August 4
At that time, the whales all rose to the water surface and opened their mouths. They were surrounding a school of small fish.
On July 26, Toan also saw two blue whales off Hon Trau Island and also near De Gi sea area.
According to local residents, whales are rarely seen near De Gi sea area. It is regarded as being lucky to see such a phenomenon on trawling expeditions.
