More than 600,000 jobs created in five months

As many as 613,800 jobs were created in the first five months of the year, achieving 38.3% of the year’s plan and equal to 96.2% of the same period last year, said Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social

As many as 613,800 jobs were created in the first five months of the year, achieving 38.3% of the year’s plan and equal to 96.2% of the same period last year, said Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Hong Lan.

A total number of 573,000 domestic jobs were created, fulfilling 38.2% of the year’s plan, and 43,800 Vietnamese workers worked abroad, reaching 43.9% of the plan.

As of May 2016, 82,585 foreigners are working in Vietnam.

Regarding labor export issue, Vietnam inked a Memorandum of Understanding on labor cooperation with the Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Thailand.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will synchronously launch a number of measures to increase labor exports to Japan, Taiwan and China.
