The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) said 34 foreign airlines had held discussions and site visits as they prepare for the airport's planned commercial launch in December.
Among domestic carriers, Vietnam Airlines plans to move four international routes to Long Thanh, while Vietjet Air has committed to operating at least two international services. Vietravel Airlines plans to launch operations by the end of the year and expand services from the 2027 summer schedule.

Earlier this month, ACV worked with international airline partners to promote 21 potential new direct routes to Ho Chi Minh City between 2025 and 2030. Target markets include China, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, the United States, Thailand and Europe.
ACV expects the new routes, together with services transferred from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, to bring around two million additional passengers a year to Long Thanh by 2030. The planned routes focus on North America, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, South Asia and Central Asia.
The airport operator forecasts annual passenger growth of around 9 per cent from China, 9.1 per cent from Hong Kong, 4.2 per cent from South Korea, 2.5 per cent from the United States, 1.5 per cent from Japan and 0.8 per cent from Australia between 2025 and 2040.
Based on those projections, Vietnam's aviation market is expected to gain an additional 8.6 million passengers by 2030, including about 3.2 million using the Tan Son Nhat-Long Thanh airport system.
ACV said it was working with airlines to attract more international services and called for easier visa policies, including broader visa exemptions and simpler e-visa procedures
