Three people have been charged with producing and trading fake food additives, provincial police said.
Duong Thi Yen Oanh, 47, and Ho Tu Phung, 45, both from Ho Chi Minh City, were placed in pre-trial detention, while Duong Hoang Hieu, 57, was banned from leaving his place of residence pending investigation.

The case emerged after economic police officers identified signs of large-scale counterfeit production activities in border areas of the province.
On January 30, authorities raided a rental property in Long Cang Commune, where they seized more than three tonnes of fake monosodium glutamate and seasoning powder branded as Ajinomoto and Knorr.
Police also confiscated more than 5,000 unused branded packaging bags, a heat-sealing machine and other equipment used in the production of counterfeit goods.
Investigators said the suspects admitted producing and distributing the fake food seasonings to grocery shops and small businesses in Tay Ninh and neighbouring provinces for profit.
The investigation is continuing as authorities seek to identify other people involved in the operation.
