Three key projects concerning the construction of a market and a park and improvement of a lake were inaugurated in Hanoi yesterday as part of the events to mark the 1000th anniversary of the capital city.
The construction of Hang Da market in Cua Dong ward, Hoan Kiem district started on April 2, 2009. The market, which covers an area of 3,367 sq.m. at a total cost of VND 249 billion, includes four storeys, a technical floor and two basements. Completed on schedule, Hang Da market is part of the re-planning policy for the city’s markets.
Also on September 30, Cau Giay Park was opened in Cau Giay district. The park, which occupies an area of 9.5ha, has an investment of VND 124 billion. The project to improve the environment of Va Lake in Tay Ho district was officially completed after six months. The Va Lake project includes a 250m long and 5.5m wide road with 3m wide sidewalks and a 600m embankment around the lake.
