Around 15 houses in the northern province of Hoa Binh are at risk of falling into Da River due to a huge and long crack in a nearby road.

The nearly one hundred-metre long crack on Road 445 that runs through Dan Ha Commune, Ky Son District is the result of recent heavy rains.

According to Hoang Van Minh, vice chairman of Ky Son District People’s Committee, the crack has divided the road into two parts, affecting 15 local houses.

Local authorities have banned people from this section of the road.

Many house face risk of falling into Da River


Eight among these households have been moved to relatives or the Hoa Binh Paper Pulp Company. 

The province is trying to deal with the problem to ensure traffic to be able to continue and people’s personal possessions can be saved.

Some days ago, seven houses in Hoa Binh Province also fell into the river due to erosion. After that, dozens of houses by the river were evacuated due to the threat of erosion.
