At around 2:30 pm on Tuesday, people at Vinh Chap Commune, Vinh Linh District saw a seven-seated car with strange people on. Right after that, they informed local authorities. Around an hour later, five people in the car were detained, including four Chinese.
The four Chinese men were detained by Quang Tri police
At the police station, they said that they tried to avoid being examined at a quarantine checkpoint on the National Highway, so they went into Vinh Chap Commune.
Thai Van Thanh, Chairman of Vinh Linh People’s Committee, said that sterilisation was conducted at a water stall in Tan Dinh Village where the five drank water and were then arrested.
The four Chinese people are Li Zijian, Jiang Sufa, Meng Shliai and Chan Biao, aged between 21 and 30.
The Vietnamese driver is Le Minh Xuyen, 31, from Bac Lieu Province’s Vinh Loi District.
The five have been sent to a quarantine site and currently show no signs of virus infection.
