Ministry proposes full resumption of international travel from end of March

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has proposed the full resumption of international travel activities from the end of March instead of early May as previously planned.

In a proposal submitted to the Prime Minister, the Ministry said the end of March will be an appropriate time to fully reopen the tourism market as Vietnam is scheduled to complete its booster shot vaccination to facilitate herd immunity by March.

According to the Ministry, from now to late March, ministries and sectors involved will have time to adjust regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control while travel companies will also have enough time to implement promotion and advertisement programs and complete necessary preparations for welcoming foreign tourists back.
