Minh easily cruises to US Open second round

US Open Badminton Championship No.3 seed Nguyen Tien Minh had no trouble thrashing Andres Lopez (underdog world no.244) from Mexico 2-0 in the first round of the tournament on July 9.

Minh started well and quickly defeated Lopez 21-8 in the first set.

He again gained the upper hand in the second set to finish the match in only 25 minutes with a score of 21-10.

In the second round scheduled for July 10 Minh will face world no.788 host Kavin Lin and his female teammate Vu Thi Trang will meet her American rival Christine Yang.
