The workers, who are frontline forces in the city’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic, had to delay their weddings for a long time because of the pandemic.

On Sunday evening, Military Hospital 175 held a collective wedding for them in a very special space.

The hospital helped to prepare necessary things such as wedding cakes and the betel and areca for the ceremony.

The hospital management board, led by Major General Nguyen Hong Son (third from right), attended the wedding.

An open-air stage was set up at the hospital to serve the wedding.

The couples’ wedding photos were displayed in the hospital yard.

At 7 pm, art performances, including fashion shows, were held to open the wedding.

Many hospital staff also joined the performances at the wedding. The dances featured the image of soldiers who brought bags of rice and cartons of instant noodles to narrow streets in HCM City during the time when the city was hard hit by the pandemic.

Lots of relatives and the hospital staff also attended the wedding.

Designer Minh Hanh’s Ao Dai (traditional dress) performed on the stage.

Couple Bui Huy Tung, 34, and Nguyen Thi Hai, 28, said that they were quite surprised to be informed of the wedding. "We planned to hold our wedding in November last year, but at that time, the pandemic in the city remained complicated. We were happy when the hospital organised the wedding for us,” Hai said.
