It is hoped that the distribution map will enable enterprises to better approach to domestic consumers. |
The map is the result of an ongoing survey about the current trends of Vietnamese goods being distributed in the country and Tra Vinh is the first province where the study was conducted.
According to Vu Kim Hanh, Director of the Business Studies & Assistance Centre (BSA), results of the survey revealed that only 15% of locals prefer to buy Vietnamese goods, 24% do not and 61% sometimes do that.
Hanh added that among people who said that they preferred to buy Vietnamese goods, 34% do because they have reasonable prices; 24% because of good quality; 15% because they support domestic products; 9% because of ease to use; 8% because of clear origin of products; and 10% because it’s their habit and ease to buy.
In Tra Vinh Province, most goods sold are consumer goods. Most of the clothing and footwear with cheap prices and low quality were made in China.
76% of those surveyed said that they knew about products through advertising on TV.
According to several enterprises, there has been an increasing amount of domestic products available on the market which Vietnamese consumers trust. Providing these products to people living in remote areas has become a priority. It is hoped that the distribution map will enable enterprises to better approach to domestic consumers.
The BSA will continue to carry out the survey in other provinces so that enterprises can more easily bring Vietnamese goods to consumers.
