Under the municipal people’s committee’s order, all entertainment facilities and restaurants with more than 30 seats will have to close until the end of March 31. The list also covers beer clubs, beauty centres, barber shops and gyms.

The departments of culture and sports, health, industry and trade and tourism have been assigned to supervise the implementation.
Earlier, the HCM City People’s Committee asked the suspension of cinemas, bars, nightclubs and theatres to close from 6 pm on March 15 until by March 31.
Director of the city’s Department of Health Nguyen Tan Binh warned that HCM City is facing a big threat of Covid-19 infection as patient numbers have been on the rise.
Chairman of HCM City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong emphasised that the next two weeks would a very important period for the city’s fight against Covid-19.
Phong requested to halt all activities at Thu Duc District’s golf course area until April 1. He urged the district to tighten control over the gatherings of people near the National University to support necessities for their quarantined relatives.
