The Ministry of Transport has ordered localities to remove inappropriate Covid-19 prevention regulations which hinder goods transportation.

The move followed the opinions from agencies about many Covid-19 prevention regulations which are too strict and rigid in regards to the transportation of goods in Can Tho, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, An Giang, Haiphong, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Ha Tinh and Bac Lieu. This has resulted in congestion in many local Covid-19 check-points, contrary to the prime minister’s instructions in facilitating goods transportation, particularly necessities, amid the pandemic.

Some cities and provinces only accepted Covid-19 test results within 24 or 48 hours instead of the 72 hours regulated by the Ministry of Health. In many cases, the test result remains valid, but drivers are still requested to take another test.

For instance, to enter Haiphong City, people have to have the negative PCR Covid-19 test result and be vaccinated with two shots.

The prime minister has assigned the Ministry of Transport to work with localities to ensure the transportation and supply of necessities, especially in many localities which have imposed social distancing measures.
