Thousands of people flocked to parks and beaches for the four-day Reunification Day and International Labour Day holidays.

The roads to Bai Chay Beach in Ha Long City were jammed. The beaches, restaurants, parks and game centres were also full of visitors. All three to five-star hotels were full.

Ha Long City is overcrowded

It is estimated that 32,000 people came to Bai Chay Beach this year, an increase of 20% compared to last year. Some 20,000 people visited Ha Long Park on April 30 alone.

Doi Duong, Da Ong Dia, and Hon Rom beaches in Binh Thuan Province also received more visitors than previous years. The occupancy rate at the Ham Tien-Mui Ne Tourism site reached 95% as 125,000 people visited the province.

In Vung Tau City, several resorts and guest houses raised prices by 50% to 70% in response to demand.

Vung Tau beaches crowded

Tran Van Truong, head of the Vung Tau tourism site management board, said 30,000 people arrived in the city on April 29 and about 70,000 more came on April 30. They had sent out more lifeguards and carried out more inspections to prevent unreasonable price increases.

Thousands of people went to Hanoi Zoological Garden Zoo and Park and Cau Giay Park

However, Nguyen Cong Nghiep, Hanoi Zoological Garden Zoo and Park, said the number of visitors was not as high as last year. "About 30,000 people visited the park on April 30. Last year, we received 100,000 people in two days," he said.
