The incident occurred on January 13 at National Highway 1A which runs through Phin Ho Commune, Nam Po District.

As a result, the whole border district of Muong Nhe and seven communes of Nam Po District have been isolated.
Thousands of cubic metres of soil and stone have covered the road section, blocking traffic for many hours.
According to workers from a construction company who worked near the landslide area, the incident happened at around 2 am. It could have been the result of the use of explosives by the company earlier.
Many people had to wait hours to travel through the affected section of the road.
