Nghia and two other staff members were arrested and prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter following the death of four South Korean tourists at the site.
The tragic accident occurred on October 24 when the South Korean visitors travelled in a UAZ jeep along a stream in the village and were swept away in a flash flood. Upstream flood waters hit the area and swept away the vehicle. The 29-year-old Vietnamese driver was lucky to swim ashore, but the two male and two female South Koreans inside the vehicle, aged between 68-79, were swept away by the floodwaters.
Rescue forces were immediately sent to look for the missing tourists and they found the bodies of the four tourists some kilometres from the site.
The driver, Vo Le Thai, suffered injuries and was discharged from the hospital some days ago upon recovering. Thai was also arrested today.
