According to the Vietnam Maritime Communication and Electronics LLC, the agency received the information from the ships at around 7 am this morning, July 29.
Boat KH 91558 TS with seven crew members faced some technical problems, causing it to stop working. Then it was towed by another fishing boat of Khanh Hoa Province named KH 99658 TS with three crew.
However, when the boats were at some 56 nautical miles from East South-East of Phu Quy Island in Binh Thuan Province, KH 99658 TS also had engine problems. The boats now are drifting freely on the sea with the speed of 1.8-2 nautical miles per hour.
Meanwhile, they are facing rough seas with strong winds.
The Vietnam Maritime Communication and Electronics LLC have called for help for the vessels.
