Karaoke bar owner fined for hosting guests despite ban

Authorities in Quang Ninh Province has issued fines of VND75 million (USD3,200) to the owner of a karaoke bar and 30 guests for violating regulations on Covid-19 prevention.

Karaoke bar owner fined for hosting 30 guests despite ban

Ha Long City authorities announced on July 30 that they had issued the fines to the karaoke bar owner in Ha Tu Ward.

The authorities discovered that the karaoke bar was opened and hosting 30 guests at midnight on July 29 even though all unnecessary businesses have been banned for Covid-19 prevention. The owner, Bui Thi Tuoi, also failed to provide her business licence.

Tuoi was fined VND15m and 30 customers at the karaoke bar were fined VND2m each. Both Tuoi and her customers have been quarantined.
