Indonesian ride-hailing firm Go-Jek has launched its service in Hanoi as part of its international expansion.
The launch ceremony was held in Hanoi on September 12 with the participation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who is in Hanoi for an official state visit and a meeting of the World Economic Forum.

Go-Viet app has been downloaded 1.5 million times since its partial launch in HCM City
The announcement follows the company's partial launch at the beginning of August in Ho Chi Minh City. Go-Jek is operating in Vietnam with local partner Go-Viet.
In Hanoi, Go-Viet will provide a Go-Bike service similar to Grab’s GrabBike. On this occasion, passengers have been offered an attractive discount of just VND1,000 per Go-bike trip below six kilometres.
Go-Viet app has been downloaded 1.5 million times since its partial launch in HCM City, holding 35 percent of the city’s market share for two-wheel ride-hailing, Go-Jek founder and CEO Nadiem Makarim.
According to Go-Viet co-founder and CEO Nguyen Vu Duc, in the next four months, Go-Viet will launch other services in Go-Car, food delivery Go-Food and mobile wallet Go-Pay over the next four months.
Vietnam is the first country for Go-Jek to spread its wing to neighbouring countries.
