Indian firm forays into Vietnam

Pune-based VH Group has forayed into the Southeast-Asian market by setting up a poultry feed manufacturing facility in the Tay Ninh Province of Vietnam.

Pune-based VH Group (Venkateshwara Hatcheries) has forayed into the Southeast-Asian market by setting up a poultry feed manufacturing facility in the Tay Ninh Province of Vietnam.

The Vietnam subsidiary has been named Venky’s (Vietnam) Co. Ltd.

The company also organised a farmers’ meet at Ho Chi Minh City recently in connection with the launch of the subsidiary.

The event was inaugurated by Kuldeep Singh, Acting Consul, Consulate General of India, Vietnam, said a press release issued here.

The VH Group, is one of the leading Indian poultry conglomerates based in Pune, the release said.

Venky’s (Vietnam) Co. Ltd., with an Investment of around $ 4 million, will be a major stepping stone for the VH Group to strengthen its position in the South East Asian market, said the release.

The feed plant is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2010, providing job opportunities to around 100 skilled and unskilled personnel in the region in the initial year of its operations.
