Indian airline launches 2nd direct route to Vietnam

Indian low-cost airline IndiGo has opened its second direct air route linking the country to Vietnam.

Accordingly, the firm will start flights from Kolkata to Hanoi on October 3, and to Ho Chi Minh City on October 18.


Chief commercial officer of IndiGo William Boulter said the firm has received active feedback from passengers for its Kolkata – HCM City route.

The Buddhist community in HCM City will be seamlessly connected to that in India through Kolkata, he said, adding that IndiGo has many flights connecting to important tourist destinations for Buddhist followers.

With the launch of the new route, HCM City will become the 7th city in Southeast Asia in the network of IndiGo’s destinations.
