Footage circulating on social media shows several trucks and an excavator transporting and unloading piles of rubbish along the shoreline at Mui Hon Bo, near But Pagoda in Hoang Tien Commune.

The waste, including decaying branches, plastic bags, sacks, construction debris and household refuse, was left in large heaps close to the water, with some already washed away by waves.
Local authorities suspect the rubbish was taken to the coast in the expectation that rising tides would carry it out to sea, thereby avoiding the cost of proper disposal.
An official from Hoang Tien Commune police said officers halted the dumping on March 1 and summoned several individuals for questioning over the alleged violations.
Preliminary checks indicate the waste had accumulated after the 2025 rainy and storm season and had not yet been fully cleared, the official added.
