Scorching heat was the cause of a forest fire which has already burned 50 hectares of forest in Vu Quang District, Ha Tinh Province, that started June 20.
According to a news source from Vu Quang National Park, there were initially 3 small fires in Khe Thien, Khe Tron and Khe Trua of Vu Quang Town, Vu Quang District, Ha Tinh Province. The fires became strong and spread through the forest swiftly. The 50 hectares of the forest which have been burned were ready to be harvested.
While relevant agencies are making all efforts possible to control the blaze, there is another fire, which is happening in Khe Chet, Hamlet 5, Vu Quang Town. The additional fire has brought the situation to a critical level.
The flames are only 1 kilometre from Vu Quang National Park and it is feared it could spread to the park. By 5pm, the blazes still weren't under control.
The fire may have already done hundreds of millions of dong in damage.
Huong Khe, Vu Quang, Huong Son districts have been affected by fires in the past as well.
