Ho Chi Minh City has been dealing with the effects of heavy flooding over the past few days.
Pushing through
On the afternoon of October 27, the entire street of Luong Dinh Cua in An Khanh Ward of District No. 2 was flooded.
Some sections of the road were even under one metre of water, causing engine problems, which forced many drivers to have to push their vehicles through the water.
This area saw three high floods in just two days. Worse, the floods occurred during rush hours.
An Khanh Market was under 60 centimetres of water, hampering local businesses. Residential areas were also affected.
Local residents said that the flooding on October 27 was much more severe than the previous day, severely impeding traffic from Thu Thiem Bridge to Luong Dinh Cua Street.
Other areas impacted by severe flooding were Phan Dinh Phung Street, Phu Nhuan District. As of the evening of October 27 the situation in many of these areas persisted.
