A director of a pet care centre in HCM City, Tuyet Do, said that they have 100 cages at various rates and have been fully booked until the Tet Lunar New Year Holiday.
"We usually see high demand during this time of the year when people go on holiday or return to their hometowns," she said. "New orders are still coming and we are going to extend our services."
According to Do, room rates for pet dogs and cats range between VND200,000-400,000 per day. The prices include food and drinks, nail and hair cutting, daily walking and health checks.
"Although labour during this time are high, we still keep the rates unchanged," she said.
Le Viet Hoa, 23, in Hanoi has a Poodle dog. She usually sends her to a pet hotel on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street whenever going on holiday or business and finds that the service is quite good.
Hoa said that she had to reserve a cage for her pet a month before the Tet holiday because she knew demand was high around this time.
"For VND200,000 per day, my pet dog is fed three times a day, gets a hair and nail cut and health checked," she said. "I can watch her through the camera anytime."
