HCM City welcomes MICE tourists from South Africa

Representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism welcome the MICE tourists from South Africa.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism announced on August 11 that the tourists came from ABSA company in South Africa.


Speaking at the welcoming ceremony held by the department, head of the MICE delegation, Charl Potgieter, shared that they chose HCM City as the metropolis boasted a wide range of historical, cultural, architectural works.

"Local residents are well known for being both friendly and hospitable, while local food is quite delicious," he added.

The delegation will stay at the five-star InterContinental Saigon Hotel for four days and three nights and attend a series of conferences, sample delicacies. They will also take part in a city tour via a double-decker bus or Vespa motorcycle, along with savouring the scenic views of the Saigon River by boat.

Since opening to foreign tourists, HCM City has welcomed several large groups of MICE tourists including 150 tourists from the US in April and 460 others from India in July this year. Local travel firms have also served many other smaller groups.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism expressed hopes that with some recent programmes put on for MICE tourist groups visiting the city, they will receive further MICE delegations in the coming time.
