The Covid-19 vaccination in Vietnam
According to Doctor Nguyen Hoai Nam, deputy director of the municipal Department of Health, as of 4 pm on July 27, over 300,000 local residents had been provided with Covid-19 vaccination in the fifth phase, including 50,000 elderly people with underlying health issues.
On July 27 alone, 70,000 people were vaccinated.
Nam added that people in quarantined areas that tested negative for Covid-19 do qualify for vaccination.
To hasten the target of vaccinating up to 70% of the city’s population, the city is seeking government’s approval for higher supply of vaccines.
Phan Van Mai, standing deputy secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said the city will conduct Covid-19 vaccinations after 6 pm in the coming time.
The vaccinations will be implemented in wards. Each ward will have at least two vaccination spots. However, people aged over 65 with underlying diseases have to go hospital for the vaccination.
