HCM City has applied social distancing regulations in line with the government’s Directive 15 since 31 amid its ongoing spread of Covid-19. Since then, even the most bustling roads in the city such as the East-West Highway have become quiet.
The six-lane Hoang Van Thu Street which links Cong Hoa Street and the city centre which previously witnessed traffic jams is now almost silent.
Access routes into the city centre see a modest number of vehicles.
Since June 20, HCM City has suspended traditional and ride-hailing taxi services, public buses and inter-provincial buses, making local streets to be more deserted.

It is common to see bicycles on HCM City’s streets these days, particularly areas around Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street.
