Sixteen localities in the city are low-risk areas, consisting of districts 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 12 and Go Vap, Phu Nhuan, Tan Binh, Binh Tan, Binh Chanh, Can Gio, Cu Chi, Hoc Mon and Nha Be districts and Thu Duc City. While six other districts 1, 4, 10, 11, Binh Thanh and Tan Phu have been recognised as medium-risk.

Over the past week, the city recorded 4,087 new Covid-19 patients, equal to the rate of 52.5 patients for every 100,000 people per week against 71 and 90.1 in the two weeks earlier.

HCM City has set up a field hospital in Thu Duc City that will also receive people infected with new variant Omicron.

The city has planned to finish the third Covid-19 vaccine booster dose for people aged 18 and over before the Tet Lunar New Year Holiday.
