HCM City residents hand over three reticulated pythons

Two people in HCM City have handed over three reticulated pythons to the municipal forest protection board.

The three pythons have been pets at the residents’ home in An Phu Ward in Thu Duc City since 2021. However, this morning, February 4, the residents voluntarily surrendered them to the HCM City Forest Protection Board due to concerns that the large pythons could pose danger.

The pythons are handed over to the HCM City Forest Protection Board on February 4.

One python weighs about 28 kilogrammes, while the others weigh 23 kilogrammes and 13 kilogrammes, respectively.

The three pythons are classified as Group IIB in the endangered and rare wildlife list. They are all in good health.

The animals will be taken to the Wildlife Rescue Station for care and rehabilitation in line with regulations.
