Hanoi’s industrial production value has reached VND 7,368 billion in January, posting a year-on-year rise of 16.3% against the same period last year, according to the municipal Statistics Bureau.
The industrial production value of the State-run sector was over VND 1,546 billion, foreign-invested sector over VND 3,147 billion, and non-state sector more than VND 2,675 billion, boasting for with the sharpest surge of 22.9%.
Processing industry made the biggest contributions of more than VND 7,069 billion, up 16.6%.
Experts attributed the industrial increase to the production of consumer goods, especially food and foodstuffs, to serve the increasing demand during the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.
