Hanoi T&T down champions Da Nang to go top

Hanoi T&T went to the top of the V-league when they handed defending champions Da Nang their first defeat of the new 2010 season.

The win for Hanoi T&T came courtesy of a solitary strike from Cao Sy Cuong as they broke Da Nang three-match winning run.

But Da Nang still have a game in hand which meant that they can still claim the top spot from Hanoi T&T in their next match.

Head coach Le Huynh Duc fielded his strongest possible line-up including in-form striker Gaston Merlo while regular goalkeeper Tran Duc Cuong was rested in place of Vo Van Hanh.

Following a scoreless first-half, Hanoi T&T were more aggressive after the break and in a quick counter-attack at the hour mark, Sy Cuong broke Da Nang’s offside trap to fire in to give Hanoi T&T the well-deserved lead.

Elsewhere, powerhouse Binh Duong were held to a 0-0 draw by Hoa Phat Han.
