The Hanoi’s People’s Committee agreed with Hai Ba Trung District’s proposal to remove Hoa Binh Market because of pollution and traffic problems.

The district has been required to take a survey and investigate individual traders at the market so as to make a final plan for moving the market.
Hoa Binh Market, which has long been known as the biggest flea market in Hanoi, was formed during the 1950s. The market currently gathers some 700 traders who have been occupying many streets including Tran Cao Van, Yen Bai, and Thinh Yen in Hai Ba Trung District. However the gathering of sellers has now been deemed to cause too much disruption.
At a meeting on September 19, the district proposed to find a proper place to relocate this market. The new suggested location was Den Lu wholesale market in Hoang Mai District.
