Taking place from April 22 to May 10, the activities aim to raise Vietnamese people’s awareness about the historical significance and value of the solidarity of the entire nation, in addition to promoting patriotism, confirming the leadership of the Party and President Hồ Chí Minh for the revolution of the nation as well as consolidating the citizens’ trust in the Party and the State.

Specifically, the capital will concentrate on decorations in the central areas and main roads including decorations of fixed panels, double-sided and three-sided panels; decorations of the panels in front of the offices of the Party committees, people’s councils and related organisations; symbolic decorations of the traffic island in front of Hanoi Opera House, the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Soviet-Vietnamese Friendship Cultural Palace. In addition, around 2,000 vertical banners will be hung along the main roads.

National flags, Party flags and red flags will be raised in major areas like Lý Thái Tổ Square, People’s Committee’s headquarters, State Bank of Việt Nam, Ba Đình Square, Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum and Hoàn Kiếm Lake. A system of advertisement boards and panels, LED screens will also be utilised for decoration.

At the grassroots level, people's committees of rural districts encourage people to hang the national flags to ensure the solemnity and safety; decorate the main streets and major building with posters with the approved content and designs.
