Hanoi streets set to hold Tet flower markets

Hanoi has assigned streets to organise flower markets in the run-up to the Tet Lunar New Year said deputy director of the municipal Department of Transport Dao Duy Phong.

Hanoi has assigned streets to organise flower markets in the run-up to the Tet Lunar New Year said deputy director of the municipal Department of Transport Dao Duy Phong.

According to Phong, between January 6-21, vehicles will be banned from Hang Luoc, Hang Ruoi, Hang Khoai (the section from Hang Giay to the junction between Hang Khoai and Hang Luoc), Hang Ma (the section from Hang Cot-Hang Ga to Hang Duong junctions) and Phung Hung (the section from Le Van Linh T-junction and Hang Cot) so they can host flower markets.

Residents who live on these streets will still have vehicle access to these areas.

Under the instruction of Hoan Kiem District’s authorities, the flower markets have to ensure traffic safety and environmental hygiene. Flower sellers will have to ensure pedestrians have at least 1.5 metres of pavement.
