Hanoi returnees from Covid-19-hit localities requested to self-quarantine

Hanoi authorities have ordered all people returning to the city from Covid-19-affected localities from 0:00 February 2 to self-isolate at their home to ensure safety.

According to the Hanoi Department of Health, the people are returnees from 12 cities and provinces affected by Covid-19 namely Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Dien Bien, HCM City, Binh Duong and Gia Lai.

Besides self-quarantine at home, people also need to contact local health agencies for Covid-19 testing. 

People returning to Hanoi from the northern province of Hai Duong’s Cam Giang District which is now a Covid-19 hotspot since January 15 and those from other areas in Hai Duong since 0:00 February 2 are required to take Covid-19 testing on February 18-20. People can also call the Covid-19 prevention and control hotlines 0969.082.115 - 0949.396.115 for any question.

Chairman of Hanoi’s district and town people’s committees must take responsibility in their locality’s Covid-19 prevention work. The same responsibility also apply to leaders of the city’s agencies and units.

By the end of February 18, up to 28,000 people had returned to Hanoi from Hai Duong Province with Hoang Mai and Long Bien districts having the highest number.

On the afternoon of February 18, Hanoi People’s Committee Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh inspected Covid-19 prevention and control activities in Hoang Mai and Long Bien districts.

According to the chairman, the city needs to take drastic action in the pandemic fight after Tet. People who have finished their quarantine need to receive close medical monitoring.
