A driver was fined for a high concentration of alcohol in his blood
Drivers who are suspected of using alcohol will be stopped for the check.
On Wednesday evening, the police identified many drivers who had a high concentration of alcohol in their blood.
One motorist in Cau Giay District was caught for the alcohol concentration violation. As a result, he was fined VND7 million (USD282.25) and had his driving license withdrawn for 11 months. His car was also confiscated for one week.
Meanwhile, another man was fined VND36 million for the same violation on Tran Dang Ninh Street, Cau Giay District, along with failing to show papers related to the car he was driving.
Lieutenant Nguyen Huu Phuong from Hanoi’s Traffic Police Division 6, said that many tragic traffic accidents in Hanoi have been caused by drunk driving. Therefore, it is essential to use the mobile patrol to identify drivers’ blood alcohol concentration.
So far this year, as many as 42 traffic accidents related to alcohol use have occurred in Hanoi, leaving 22 dead and 32 others injured.
