Trung Van Lake in Nam Tu Liem District has become dry for a long time and now has been covered by wild grass.
According to local people, the lake has seen falling water levels over the past year and now has become completely dry.
Many works around the lake have deteriorated.
The two ponds in the Hanoi Botanical Garden have also dried up over the past two months.
Covering a total area of 1.65 hectares, the lakes only receive rain water, which has become rare this year.
A staff member at the Hanoi Botanical Garden, Ngo Vinh, said that this was the first time that the lakes here have faced such a drought.
