The Open Air #2 X-mas Festival has been canceled.

South Korean artists Kim Jae Joong, Highlight, Infinite, Nichkhun, Jun.K and others announced on Thursday and Friday their decision to withdraw from the highly expected event, explaining that the organisers had failed to comply with contract terms.

Some Vietnamese artists including singers Toc Tien, Tang Duy Tan, Chi Pu, and Duc Phuc, have also announced that they would not participate in the event.

On the afternoon of December 22, just a day before the event, the organisers officially published a statement on their Facebook profile, saying that they would cancel the event and would refund ticket purchasers.

Many fans have left comments voicing their disappointment with the event organisers.

Tickets to the Open Air #2 X-mas Festival event ranged between VND900,000-15 million, including a separate check-in lane and participation in a random artist’s autograph signing session. This was the highest price for an event relating to K-pop in Vietnam to date, as tickets to South Korean girl group Blackpink’s July concert in Hanoi were sold for up to VND9.8 million.

The stage began to be deconstructed on late Friday afternoon.
