Hanoi authorities have invited experts from Singapore to supervise tree pruning in the city.

Hanoi Green Park JSC announced it was already making preparations for the rainy season, as the city’s trees were in the process of sprouting. They have already started pruning trees to limit the number of dangerous hanging branches or potential trees that may fall.
According to the representative of state-owned Hanoi Green Park JSC, they had rented old saws at VND250m per month. This was expensive and often blocked traffic. Several employees had also been injured in the process.
This year, Hanoi authorities invested VND1.5bn (USD71,400) to buy more efficient, lighter equipment from Germany. They also invited experts from Singapore to improve the treatment of the city’s trees.
The authorities claim they aim is to increase the city’s green spaces and improve the appearance of the capital's streets within the next five years.
